PATH Hosts Media Tour of Transmission
Facilities, Proposed Line Route

Media from Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia attended a tour of transmission facilities and a portion of the proposed PATH route in early August near Winchester, Va. The event featured:

• on-location briefings on the need, siting and maintenance of transmission lines;
• photo/video opportunities (from ground level and in the air) of existing transmission lines parallel to the proposed PATH route;
• helicopter flyovers of portions of the proposed route.

The media event is part of PATH's commitment to educating the public about the need for the line, as well as efforts to minimize the environmental and land use impacts of the project.
