Siting

Those attending the open house meetings could view preliminary maps showing alternative routes being considered for the line, as well as talk to PATH representatives about siting, property owner outreach, engineering and other issues.

PATH Holds Public Open Houses to Provide Info, Receive Input
PATH held a series of public open houses in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia in July and August.

The open house meetings provided attendees with the opportunity to speak one-on-one with PATH representatives on a variety of topics, including the overall project, transmission line routing and engineering, property owner outreach and energy conservation. Preliminary maps were on display at the open houses. The maps showed various alternative routes being considered at that time.

The specific PATH route has not been selected. Those attending the open houses could fill out surveys designed to help identify siting issues. The survey results will be used to develop a proposed route. PATH expects to determine the exact proposed route by the first quarter of 2009.
