The project will create jobs in engineering, surveying, construction and related industries.
PATH will support continued economic growth in Maryland, particularly fast-growing communities in suburban Baltimore and Washington.
In West Virginia, the project will improve the state’s energy position on a national level by providing greater access to national energy markets for West Virginia coal and new power generation projects being considered in the state, including renewables and clean coal projects.
The project will allow greater flexibility in scheduling outages for maintenance of critical transmission infrastructure.
